We are looking for an innovative and driven Senior Director of Sales and Business Development to help design, operationalize, and implement early stage best-in-class sales strategies of our product and services as we progress from Seed to Series A.
This role requires a strong candidate who is fluent in all aspects of demand generation — networking, CRM use, sales prospecting — who has a strong basis in metrics and KPIs, including individual metrics, an who is a strong leader and a proactive communicator. Wellplaece is seeking these characteristics in an adaptive team player.
Role Scope & Purpose:
The Senior Director of Sales and Business Development is responsible for pipeline building, closing sales and the delivery of top line revenue for the company. Activities include identifying, strategizing, developing, and implementing methodologies for growing strong, lasting relationships with new ICP targets, key industry influencers, and potential partners, and for the development, operationalization, and implementation of demand generation tactics, metrics and support for the larger business development strategy. This role needs to keep up to date with industry trends, market changes, competitors, and other key elements of the larger business and market environment, including the potential of attending events, giving interviews, and other public-facing activities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Achieving personal and company revenue goals
- Serve as sales lead from prospecting to interest to product demos to contract close.
- Develop, define, and implement sales strategies and approaches for the overall generation of new paying customers
- Develop systems for sales-specific customer acquisition
- Develop and implement systems necessary for achieving quarterly metrics and objectives and troubleshoot methods for improvement
- Provide data, analytics, and insights to key internal stakeholders to inform company approaches to organizational planning, financial forecasting, budget setting, and strategic planning
- Work closely with the Marketing team to ensure conversion sales tools and to generate high-quality, demand-generating content
- Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with potential partners and key industry influencers, trendsetters, and opinion leaders as it relates to client acquisition
- Work closely with the Customer Success, Product, and Order Processing teams to process feedback to maximize user delight and to refine target market prospecting and sales/marketing messaging
- Manage and maintain CRM inputs completely and accurately, and work with data teams to improve CRM systems as applicable
Experience:
- 5+ years of relevant B2B experience in direct solution sales
- BA/BS degree or equivalent
- Industry specific experience helpful but not required
- A history of developing other sales professionals is helpful
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions
- Proven leadership and ability to influence cross-functional teams
- Ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organization
- Proven ability to translate product functionality and draw to ICP targets and translating customer feedback to internal teams
- Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
- Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Expert level multi-tasking and pipeline management
